If you follow us on Facebook or Twitter, there are probably some repeats. But there are some new ones, too. Sorry for the delay between posts; we just get wrapped up in whatever we’re doing and forget to write about it.
- Dale at a friend’s BBQ on July 4th
- It was in the high 70s all during my staycation, so I (OK, Dale) set up an outdoor command center.
- Here’s staycation headquarters, the other side.
- The birds helping me update Facebook
- Our front yard with lots of snow
- Fancy party!
- We’re really proud of the half-igloo around our firepit
- We dug out a hollow to help keep warm during our fire pit parties. In March.
- Dale, relaxing before the party
- Chill Dale
- Ready for a fire pit party in the snow! Marshmallow sticks, beer/cider, …. good to go!
- We go all fancy and classy for our fire pit parties.
- Fire pit at night (so this must be a winter photo)
- Tea
- The voles(?) that lived under our rosebush desperately wanted to get to the bird feeder. It was fun to watch them jump for it.
- Setup for Zendo, a game we like.
- This makes me laugh and think of Ray.
- We got a door to separate the arctic entry (emphasis on “arctic”) from the rest of the house. It’s pretty!
- We drove down to Seward to see the just-hatched octopus babies
- Puffins and guillemots under water.
- Puffins and guillemots under water at the Alaska Sealife Center
- Mr. Splashy (a tufted puffin) looks suspicious
- It was a pretty day to be in Seward!
- The birds, examining the yard
- Dale at the Hackathon. We still haven’t finished the app we were trying to build.

- The view from Hilltop (where the rich folks live). We were just visiting.
- The view from Hilltop
- With my injured foot, I work from home whenever possible. Here’s the dining room, converted into a work-at-home office.
- This is a peep milkshake. (Yes, I’m avoiding sugar right now, but I wasn’t when the photo was taken.) It is the Best. Thing. Ever.
- This is an Elvis milkshake–vanilla, banana, peanut butter, and bacon. It isn’t as good as the Peep milkshake. (No, I wasn’t avoiding sugar when this photo was taken. Am now.)
- This snow fell on May 18.
- A vole trying to hide in the grass.
- These guys are crazy. The Cook Inlet is very, very cold. But I admit, their antics looked fun!
- This is Anchorage from high up. (We took the photo on the way down the mountain from our friends’ wedding.)
- Here’s the Mayor inside the mosquito netting. What a good kitty.
- This is the newest member of the Sheldon-Hess household, Magpie Bernadette Sheldon-Hess. We call her Maggie. (She’s really a boy, we realized later, but whatever.)
- Stupid thumb, stupid wrist, hate hate hate. But at least I got a pretty cast-thing!
